Course Information
Description	Studio art course that introduces the potential of basic digital media manipulation and graphic creation. The course emphasizes still and time-based media.
Prerequisites	None
Learning Outcomes	Learning Outcome Apply tools and technologies used in digital media. Apply the elements of art and principles of design within the realm of digital media. Demonstrate creative skill in aesthetic problem solving within assigned parameters. Employ discipline-specific vocabulary in the evaluation of still and time-based design problems. Demonstrate an appropriate level of professional practice.

Determination of Final Grade	Determination of Final Grade 20% Part 1: Thinking 20% Part 2: Looking 50% Part 3: Doing 10% Part 4: Critique Project Grades 100% - This is a project based class. your grade will be based off of 5 class projects. The Average of these projects will account for 100% of your grade. Each major project will have 4 different phases Thinking, Looking, Doing, and Critique. 20% Thinking Assignments This is the 1st phase of the project. These assignments will require students to study and analyze the projects objectives and brainstorm concepts for possible solutions for the project. 20% Looking Assignments- These assignments will require students to research subject matter to learn about the iconography and symbolism of other countries. 50% Doing Assignments- This is the major part of the project where students will learn how to visually create their designs using current programs within the industry. 10% - Critique - This is the last stage of their projects where they will gather feedback about their projects from their peers or instructors.
Course Policies
Instructor Policies	Expectations To do well in this course, plan on a minimum of at least 7-8 hours of work per week to complete their design process assignments and practice using the programs for this class. There is a lot of course material to cover in this class so please don’t fall behind. It will be hard to make up course material if you do so. Class News and Updates I will be contacting you via email (through the campus email with reminders, changes or any other pertinent information. Please check your email at once per day to make sure there are any important updates. It is your responsibility to manage your mailbox so that lines of communication are open and available. Attendance Policy	Attendance Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendances and college success. Students that came to class more were more successful in their education than students that didn’t come to class. Come to class! My attendance policy is simple after 3 unexcused absences your final grade will drop by one letter grade after 8 you will receive and F for the course.
Academic Honesty	Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
Facility Policies	No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
